Semana Santa, "Holy Week" (Easter), brought thousands of Mexican tourists to the beaches of Banderas Bay. Here are some photos of us around the Bay.
Earning our shade
If we’re going to spend any time in the Sea of Cortez this summer, we need to make sure we’re set up to deal with living in 40+ degree heat. Air flow, water, and shade are all important considerations. HYDROQUEST came with some great items – two wind scoops (to be hung from halyards over … Continue reading Earning our shade
Sweet sail into a new decade
I was minutes away from having to spend my 30th birthday here: As you may have read earlier, we were tied down at Paradise Village Marina for so long (3 weeks total) because we had to order new Trojan batteries from the US. They were meant to arrive earlier in the week but the truck broke down on … Continue reading Sweet sail into a new decade
Update on BBR – Moondance cleans up
The awards ceremony for the Banderas Bay Regatta was last Saturday. Moondance was a TRIPLE WINNER: First in H Class (won all three races! Will and I were out for two of them), first in boat parade (Woohoo!), and first time racing. Banderas Bay Regatta – GO Moondance GO!
The final minute of the 1st race was a nail-biter. The serious racing crew of Moondance sat tensely up on the windward rail watching the other yacht gain ground. A big thanks to Conor … Continue reading Banderas Bay Regatta – GO Moondance GO!

Punta de Mita, Sayulita, La Cruz
Punta de Mita: We arrived early afternoon, anchored in 22 ft of water and enjoyed freshwater showers on the swim platform (which is already valued as amazing add-on to the boat). Punta de Mita is being marketed as a more upscale location and it does have a classy feel. There are no crowds, somewhat expensive beach restaurants, and … Continue reading Punta de Mita, Sayulita, La Cruz
